Orang National Park

Often called a miniature Kaziranga, the 76 sq km park, 66 km northwest of Tezpur, has similar flora and fauna, though viewing is not as rewarding. This is compensated by its peaceful and intimate atmosphere, especially if staying inside the park. Sleeping: F Bungalows, two at park entrance, two 1 .5 km inside the park, over-looking river. Each with two double rooms (Rs 175 per room), bring own provisions, cook/guide will prepare your food. Reservations, Div Forest Officer, Mangal Doi, T03713-22065. Getting there: A car is bestfrom Tezpur (2 hrs), then from Orangto thepark (15km bumpy, dusttrack) andforwithin the park.
