Muhurighat Land Custom Station to work soon

By Prasanta Chakraborty: India and Bangladesh will start trade and business through Muhurighat Land Custon Station(LCS) in Tripura from 4th October to boost trade relation of the two south asian countries. Awami League government in Bangladesh has recently agreed in principle to operationalise the Muhurighat LCS and to renotify the Feni LCS in Sabroom as per its look north-east policy. The official sources here confirmed that the Bangladesh is looking forward to push its goods to the India's north-eastern part of India to reduce the trade gap with India.

 

Briefing the media after his telephonic conversation with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Mani the state Industry and Commerce Minister Jitendra Chowdhury told that the Neighbouring country is now setting its eye on the huge market of the north-east and working closely with the business community in this regards. He said that Bangladesh Foreign Minister will soon tour the North-eastern state of India to enhance bilateral relation.

Bangladesh yesterday agreed to give access to the Chiragung port and to announce the Ashugunj port a port on call for the transportation of the essential commodities to the north east India.

It has also agreed to connect Agartala-Akhaura Rail line and extend cooperation to check cross border terrorism. Tripura Trade and Commerce Minister Jitendea Chowdhury will visit Dhaka from 4th October to boost state ties with Bangladesh.
