State level Leadership Project for Ignited Youth
Kanyakumari, January 1, 2010: India’s greatest human resource is the youth. But this resource should also be developed. Hence as a build up to Swami Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary in 2013, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari has taken up a massive State-level Leadership development project, Vijay Hi Vijay for Degree and Post Graduate students of Assam.
The project will inspire the youth with the dynamic idealism of the Patriot Saint Swami Vivekananda: "Up India Conquer the whole world with your Spirituality . It is also in tune with our former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s Vision India 2020. Vijay hi Vijay will be organised in 2 Phases in Assam:
Phase I: 2009- 2010: Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Golaghat, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong Tezpur, Nagaon, Lumding, Morigaon, Kamrup, Darrang.
Phase II: 2010-2011 Goalpara, Nalbari, Udalguri, Barpeta, Baksa, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar & Dhubri, N.C. Hills, Karimganj, Hailakandi, Silchar
In Phase I 30,000 degree and post graduate students have got involved from June 2009 onwards through book-based examinations, workshops, one-day youth leadership camps that will culminate in a camp in Tinsukia from 5-10 January 2010 in which 1200 youth are expected to participate.
The purpose of the Mahashibir is to develop the personality of the youth and channelise youth energy for the welfare of the society. In short Vijay Hi Vijay is a massive Human Resource Development programme. Teams of educated elites have come together to organize this programme and guide its follow up. The Assam Prant Sanyojaka [State Chairman] for this programme is Prof. Dinesh Ch. Baroowa, former Registrar, Gauhati University and presently member of the Dibrugarh Unversity, Executive Council and the Assam Prant Nirvaahaka, [State Secretary] Dr Sovarani Borkotoky Sarmah, Principal Jaya Gogoi College, Kumtai, Golaghat district.
Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari is a Spiritually-orientd Service Mission working throughout India with the motto Man-Making-Nation-Building. Its about 230 centres include branch centres, projects in the field of education, rural development, health care, natural resources development, publications, culture and inter-civilizational dialogue. It has been serving the cause of the Northeast through 41 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas [Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland], VK NRL Hospital in Numaligarh, Rural Development through VK Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh, Aanandalaya [informal education in rural, tribal and tea garden areas,] a Vocational training centres in Khatkhati, Karbi Anglong, & 4 more in Arunachal Pradesh and a Northeast-focussed seminar cu, research project, Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture at Guwahati. This stupendous work has been possible because of dynamic public support.
Mahashibir Details
Mahashibir is going to be organized from 6-10 January, 2010 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Laipuli, Tinsukia in which about 1200 students selected from first and second stage will participate.
In this residential camp, various activities under the patronage of learned dignitaries, such as Yoga, lecture sessions, Group Discussions and presentation, Spiritual wisdom, Personality Development programmes, games, etc. shall be conducted.
Inaugural Details
6 January 2010 at 9.30 am The Chief Guest, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, Hon’ble Minister for Health, Science & Technology, Government of Assam will inaugurate the Mahashibir on 6th January and Dr. K.K. Deka, Vice-Chancellor, Dibrugarh University will be the Guest of Honour. Mananeeya Shri A. Balakrishnanji, All India Vice President, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari will preside.
valedictory Details
10 January 2010 at 10 am Dr. K.K. Dwivedi, Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia District will be the Chief Guest and the Valedictory Address will be delivered by Mananeeya Nivedita Didi, All India Vice President, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari.
