Dhalpur, 14 December 2011- Today M.L.A. Bhupen Borah of Bihpuria assembly constituency has laid the foundation stone of the memorial statue of the popular music maestro Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Dhalpur under Lakhimpur district in a meeting held to pay homage to Dr. Hazarika.

At the meeting different respectable persons including Amarjyoti Choudhury offered tribute to dear Bhupenda. "He will be always alive in the heart of the people of Assam"in course of the speech Choudhury added.Further Bhupen Bora said,"Bhupen Hazarika was my kinsman and my name is kept by my parents as a sign of love to the great man."Defferent singer from among the public sang Bhupen Hazarika's song in response.Around 7,000 people gathered at the meeting and paid homage to Bhupenda.
