Paddy production in Narayanpur is affected by flood

Narayanpur, 17 December 2011 - Assam economy is mainly based on agriculture. More than 70 percent people of the state earn their livelihood by cultivating their lands. But the cultivators under Narayanpur Revenue Circle in Lakhimpur district are in a tensed state of mind due to the heavy loss from their paddy cultivation.

The sorrowful condition of the cultivators has happened due to the repeatedly occuring flood for the sake of incessant heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh which flooded 15 villages of this Revenue Circle. Flood occured during the important agricultural months (SAUN,VADO)of the Assamese people which blowed them dangerously on their back-bone, spoiling the budding paddy fields. Obviously the result is out in the months of November-December creating sorrowful condition for the cultivating people of Narayanpur R.C. This situation poses impediments in the simple lifespan of the people of this area. They now look up to the government and demands necessary action.
